Nashville Campaigns Bring Home Top Honors at PRovoke Media’s 2021 North America SABRE Awards

May 11, 2021

The 2021 North America SABRE Awards honored two FINN Southeast clients with recognition for outstanding communications campaigns.

Meharry Medical College’s campaign Meharry and Finn Partners Surge on Behalf of Black Americans was honored with Best in Corporate Reputation: Executive Leadership and a Diamond SABRE for Superior Achievement in Reputation Management. The campaign also received a coveted “Best In Show” commendation, named in the top five among more than 2,000 entries.

Meharry and Finn Partners Surge on Behalf of Black Americans was an aggressive and ingenious thought leadership campaign on behalf of Meharry’s President Dr. James EK Hildreth. Founded in 1876 to train Black doctors to treat Black patients the white medical establishment refused to treat, Meharry has never received the philanthropic support it deserves. As the pandemic descended, Finn Nashville leveraged Dr. Hildreth’s preeminence as an infectious disease expert to garner unprecedented national prominence and financial support for Meharry: almost $80 million in grants and partnerships.

FINN Southeast also was awarded Best in Advocacy: Crisis Management honors for the Metro Nashville with Finn Partners: A Storm Every Day campaign. The first Covid case arrived in Nashville as the city was still reeling from a devastating tornado. The Nashville Finn office was asked to partner with the Mayor’s office to orchestrate clear and calming communications and develop an innovative roadmap for reopening Nashville that other municipalities adapted. The work continued through civil unrest following George Floyd’s murder, a Christmas Day domestic terrorist bombing, and massive weather disruptions early in 2021. It continues today.

Congratulations!
