What would be your splurge meal and at what restaurant?

I’d take my mom’s cooking over a restaurant meal any day.

What is your go-to productivity hack?

I love a good task management tool, and my go-to is Trello. My dashboard is one of the only things that keeps me sane during a crazy workday—the other being my dog.

What is the best advice you’ve ever heard?

“The more you seek the uncomfortable, the more you become comfortable.” It’s a daily reminder for me to rise up and embrace challenges, no matter my discomfort or fear of failing.

What is one thing about Singaporean culture you love?

Our unofficial language: ‘Singlish’. It’s a one-of-a-kind dialect of the English language. You won’t catch us speaking it on client calls, or writing it in our media pitches, but you can bet we’re code-switching and using it in our everyday office speak because it’s such an integral part of our lives. I mean, where else can you find 24 ways to use the word ‘can’?

What is one professional skill you’re currently working on?

Visual/ creative design. I love marrying my passion for good design with aspects of my job, so I’ve been looking at ways to incorporate more interesting elements into my work—from social media infographics to PowerPoint slides.

What would your superpower be and why?

Teleportation. Just imagine all the time I could save traveling to a faraway country or even the trips to the office!

What is the biggest misconception people have about your position?

That managers have all the answers.

Plot twist: We really don’t! I count on my team members to share their ideas and recommendations before making a call on the best way forward. This is why collaboration at the workplace is so important—we make more informed decisions when we come together.

What is your favorite app and your favorite electronic gadget?

App: I can never commute in peak hour human traffic without music, so my fave app has got to be Spotify.

Gadget: My Kobo eReader. I love to read, but my bookshelves are absolutely drowning in books, so having an eReader really helps keep my personal library under control.

What is your greatest professional achievement?

Being part of the team at FINN Partners Singapore working on the 31st Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF31). Due to the global pandemic, it was the first SGIFF to adopt a hybrid festival format; hence, there were challenges from securing media interest to ticketing amidst social distancing requirements.

I’m really proud of the successful festival that we pulled off in collaboration with the SGIFF team!

What book or movie have you recently read/seen that you would recommend?

Nothing recent, but I am a Christopher Nolan fangirl and I make a movie marathon out of his entire filmography—from Memento to Batman and Tenet—every year. I am beyond excited for his next film, Oppenheimer.
