What was the most recent book you enjoyed?

I have just finished Project Hail Mary, by Andy Weir, who wrote The Martian. Fantastic “trapped in space with memory loss” novel that is thoroughly imaginative and scientifically sound.  Lots of on-the-fly problem-solving!

What would be your splurge meal, and at what restaurant?

I adore Japanese food – there is a little Sushi restaurant in North London called Eat Tokyo, which serves the best Japanese food I’ve eaten outside of Japan. I try to get back there as often as I can, especially as my boys and my wife adore it too!

What is the one professional development tip that has been invaluable to you?

Don’t rest on your laurels:  I’ve always been extremely keen to push myself outside my comfort zone. This has featured heavily in us creating new services and starting new departments over the years. I am also always seeking out knowledge – whether it is learning about a new clients’ business, or a new industry altogether – I am always on the hunt to learn more. Being genuinely interested in other people and their businesses have stood me in very good stead over the years.

What three things would you want most if stranded on a desert island?

My Kindle, an Ice Maker and a big Sun Umbrella!

What is the one principle that has guided your life and career?

Enjoy life every single day, and have fun.  Remembering that we work to live is crucial to my well-being.  Being humble and treating others how you would like to be treated also features very highly on my agenda.  Being nice to those you know, and those you don’t get you a very, very long way in life.
