MTO elevates its brand communications and website to reflect its “A-list” reputation.
From Hollywood to Silicon Valley to Wall Street, Munger Tolles Olson (MTO) lawyers tackle the most high-profile cases. MTO’s work shapes the corporate/political landscape. The 200-lawyer firm has been named to the American Lawyer’s A-List 4 consecutive years and 11 times in the 21-year history of the award. The firm needed a new website and brand communications refresh to match its remarkable reputation. The old did not match the quality of the firm, its clients or work.
GOAL
Put the “A-list” law firm’s communications on par with its remarkable results, people and reputation. Deliver a website that aids the work of firm marketers and recruiters in attracting top clients and best/brightest talent to the firm.

In collaboration with the firm’s leadership and marketing/BD teams, here is what FINN delivered to MTO:
- Designed an all new, look, feel and voice for firm communications, guided by a new Northstar theme: “Remarkable results. Remarkable talent.”
- Planned, designed, developed and wrote much of the new MTO.com and surrounding collateral materials. Put previously all verbal communications in balance with verbal and visual proof of the firm’s exceptional track record.
- Built a new, refreshed suite of collateral and business development tools, along with a proposal generator that draws content from the new CMS and site.
- Created new brand standards, image libraries, and graphic communication suites of tools.
This project integrated the following FINN skills: research and market insights, brand strategy and positioning; brand design; website planning, design, writing and development; sales and social tools and templates design and writing.
