A GIFT FOR YOU FROM THE FISK JUBILEE SINGERS
Go Tell It On The Mountain
We have the Singers’ own John Wesley Work, Jr. to thank for this African American spiritual turned holiday staple. He first published “Go Tell It on the Mountain” in New Jubilee Songs and Folk Songs of the American Negro in 1907 before the ensemble proceeded to travel the country and share the words of their ancestors to a tune–a meaningful gift we’re glad they continue to give.
Help the Fisk Jubilee Singers share the gift of music with the world.
