I bring more than 30 years’ experience working in media and financial communications across Sydney, London and New York. Most my career has been as an agency leader and consultant – helping clients create strategic marketing and communications programs that build their reputation and drive conversations that will take their business forward. Today I’m focused on growing our specialist financial practice across the APAC region, building on existing relationships, creating new connections and looking at how we can deliver new opportunities to our clients and our team.

How'd you get here?
I grew up on five acres in Western Sydney and initially wanted to be a broadcast journalist – however university beckoned and instead of a cadetship I ended up doing an Economics degree. This kicked off my twin passions for media and finance and my first job was in the banking sector with Westpac before moving to Mitsui Taiyo Kobe bank in London. It was in London I finally pursued my journalism dreams and took on an editor role at a trade publishing house before returning to Sydney to edit a superannuation (pensions) and investment magazine. This was the early days of Australia’s compulsory retirement savings system and I had the good fortune to interview many of the market’s leading players – several of whom suggested I might come and work for them! I saw the opportunity to set up a specialist agency dedicated to the financial sector and Honner + Associates was born. My early years taught me about the importance of taking risks, staying curious and building relationships – our strong network built over decades is a major asset we bring to all our clients.
