Being a president of a widely respected agency is a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I've been praised for my efforts, won awards, and admired for my good work. And, I've been criticized and taken my lumps for some miscues as well.  But what I can tell you is that I love what I do for a living.

Beginning in the broadcast business in New York at NBC, and then on the west coast at both ABC and a leading independent LA TV station,  my media skills were honed and my move into public relations was made a lot easier. A passion for technology accounts had me traveling back and forth from Los Angeles to Silicon Valley at least once a week, and that made me appreciate the power and strategic importance of  using public relations as a brand-building, marketing and positioning "tool." Think about this: At that time there was no internet—IBM Selectrics, Rolodexes, Fax Machines and the Telephone were the valuable tools of PR! Living that history sure makes me marvel and appreciate today's communications tools and techniques.

After serving as president of one major PR agency, and in the process, moving back to New York, I met Peter Finn and forged a powerful, meaningful business relationship as President of Ruder Finn Americas. I'm so pleased now to be the senior managing partner of Finn Partners.

I do a lot of things over here—work on client issues, pitch potential clients, manage, look for new business partnership opportunities domestically and globally, and keep things lively—always with an eye to keeping the agency strong and vibrant. And if there's one thing I'd want you to know about me, it can be summed up in a phrase from Maya Angelou, who said "I've learned that People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
