Improving health through communications is a career calling since my first days at Merck & Co. Inc. some 20 years go. There I saw how communications is essential to building brands, starting in the advertising and marketing departments and later moving to head communications at MSD Paris. After Merck, I joined the Mérieux Institute (a world-leading vaccine company – today Sanofi Pasteur) as Head of Internal and External Communications.
In the PR profession, we must be creative and ready to advance ideas. For that reason, I created Mynecom, a specialist healthcare communications agency, which became part of Ruder Finn in 1998. It was there that I met many of the people who now lead Finn Partners. In 2004, I decided to shift focus to providing strategic guidance on European strategic initiatives. But Finn Partners – the people and values – called me back. Making a difference is part of the Finn Partners culture and value.
My work has given me the opportunity to lead French and global professional and patient communications programs focused on prevention, disease awareness, access to treatment in areas such as oncology, AIDS, immunology, infectious diseases, vaccines, medical devices and biotechnology. Public health commitment led me to mobilize to stop Meningitis outbreaks, in Brazil and in France as well as on efforts to reach polio eradication, access to pediatric vaccines in Sub-Saharian Africa and Flu vaccine in Europe. Doing well by doing good is a calling. I’ve worked on the launching cancer, Hepatitis C and Narcolepsy treatments to name a few and new vaccines such as Gardasil.
Honing my knowledge and advocacy connections enabled me to work with many of the world’s most innovative biopharma companies including bioMérieux, Bristol Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Roche, Sanofi Pasteur, Transgène and not-for-profit health organizations including the French Cancer Society, French Federation of Cancers Centers, National League Against Cancer, Mérieux Foundation and IAVI.
When I am not helping clients, I volunteer within patients groups and NGOs. I am on the National Cancer League Communication Committee and on the NGO “Equilibre et Population” Fund Raising Committee, promoting Women Health Rights in West Africa.
