Jacqui Lipson is a vice president on the PreK-12 Education team working in the Boston area. With more than a decade of experience in education and public affairs, Lipson possesses a keen sense of the complex education issues facing the nation. Using her unique combination of classroom teaching and public relations experience, she provides Widmeyer clients with sophisticated counsel on nonprofit management, public affairs, and communications.

Since joining the Widmeyer team, Lipson has worked on a remarkable and diverse list of projects for the National Assessment Governing Board, Foundation for Newark’s Future, American Federation of Teachers, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, Achieve Inc., EdVestors, EdReports.org and much more. Previously she worked at the NYC Department of Education’s then-newly established Office for Family Engagement, where Lipson was tasked with strengthening relations between the DOE and parent leaders.

Lipson also served as the director of public affairs at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, where she worked to build relations among various elected leaders, community associations, and government agencies around a complex urban park project, as well as managed media outreach for the Park’s public cultural programming. As the teen program manager for the highly respected Philadelphia nonprofit, Project HOME, Lipson developed her skills in management, fundraising, program design and client service under the mentorship of Sister Mary Scullion, one of the country’s most effective advocates for community revitalization, housing, and mental health. She started her career with a Teach for America post in New Orleans.

Lipson holds an M.A. in Public Administration in Nonprofit Management from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service and a B.A. in Environmental Justice from the University of Vermont.
