Patient Access Week 2026
April 6, 2026
This Patient Access Week, I’ve been reflecting on what it truly means to create more seamless, equitable access to care and the role we each play in making that a reality.
As part of the Health practice at FINN Partners, my work is rooted in supporting initiatives that empower patients to take a more active role in their care journeys. This year’s theme, Innovative Access: Transforming Healthcare Management for the Future, strongly resonates with what we see every day: innovation is not just about new technologies or treatments, but about how those advancements are understood, experienced, and accessed by the people who need them most.
One of the most impactful ways we help bridge that gap is through patient ambassador programs. By giving patients a seat at the table, we create space for them to share their lived experiences, including the realities of navigating a diagnosis, managing daily life with a condition, and interacting with an often complex health system. These stories do more than raise awareness; they humanize science, making complex information more relatable, actionable, and meaningful for broader audiences.
Through this work, I’ve seen firsthand that when patients are included as active participants (not just recipients) healthcare becomes more connected, more compassionate, and ultimately more effective. Their voices help shape not only how stories are told, but how solutions are developed and delivered.
As we look toward the future of health, it’s clear that true innovation in access goes beyond systems and solutions. It requires listening to patients, learning from their experiences, and ensuring their perspectives are embedded in every step of the journey.
Grateful to collaborate with colleagues, partners, and patient advocates who are driving this work forward, and to play a role in shaping how these important efforts are communicated and understood.
