LOCATION: The Public Relations Associate Vice President – Consumer Lifestyle Brands PR is part of FINN Partners NY, NY Office’s Consumer Lifestyle and Sports Public Relations practice. Applicants must live in the metropolitan New York, NY area. The role has a hybrid work schedule – 2 weekdays in-office + 3 weekdays work from home.
We seek applicants who are current PR agency-based Public Relations Account Supervisors with 6 progressive years of prior PR experience focused on consumer public relations strategies and program execution for consumer lifestyle and outdoor brands.

The Consumer PR AVP will: oversee planning and execution of client programs in addition to guiding new business programs; pursue, develop, and lead new business presentations; and manage and cultivate PR staff members. Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of integrated and successful public relations campaigns/programs that exceed client goals.
- Maintain clear and consistent communications; provide proper direction and counsel; and offer problem-solving solutions to clients.
- Develop and grow senior client relationships.
- Lead internal teams and drive their growth; provide proper feedback and guidance; motivated to be creative and achieve excellent results.
- Review and develop press materials, including but not limited to press releases, media advisories, key messages, Q&As, and executive remarks.
- Develop overall communications media strategy for clients; manage profitability and financial aspects of accounts.
- Utilize excellent contacts to secure consistent media coverage across a wide range of consumer, F&B, business, lifestyle, and news publications.
- Establish new media contacts to expand reach across print, online, TV, social, radio, sub-stacks and podcasts.
- Strategize and execute influencer programs.
- Manage account staff, including oversight of roles on the accounts you manage.
- Generate new business opportunities and help secure new clients; research and participate in new business presentations; develop RFPs that showcase our unique capabilities and proven results.
Requirements:
- 6 years of prior PR leadership roles focused on consumer public relations strategies and program execution for consumer lifestyle and outdoor brands.
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, or communications related field is required. MBA or post-graduate degree is a plus.
- Proven history of leading PR teams and driving results.
- Ability to manage multiple high-profile accounts at once.
- True passion for staying abreast of industry and consumer trends and creatively capitalizing on them.
- Exceptional media relations with many top-tier national and trade outlets; proven history of media placements and established contacts.
- Ability to develop and execute successful media relations, affiliate, and influencer programs.
- Excellent writing and editing skills (familiar with AP style).
- Strong communications skills, project management capabilities and proven problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines.
- Effectively work as part of a team, share information freely and support the common goals of the group. Is a true team player.
- Detail-oriented, organized, hardworking, flexible, and thorough.

Salary range is $90,000 – $100,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and dependent upon the workplace.
