June is typically recognized as LGBTQ Pride Month because of the riots that took place in 1969 on June 28th at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village.
This demonstration and subsequent ones in the days following, led to the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States.
At Finn Partners, we have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination in any capacity. Our policies cover the LGBTQ community.
We have a gender neutral parental leave policy and our health insurance policies conform with marriage equality. Our Business Attire policy reflects gender neutrality, as well. In our New York office and many of our other locations, we have a gender inclusive restroom. We consistently look to hire, retain and promote LGBTQ employees and we bring attention to Pride events in our community.
Geena Russo, an account executive in our New York office, has taken on a pro bono assignment for Out Serve-Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN). She will be sitting on the PR Council for this non-profit organization that provides free and direct legal assistance to service members and veterans who are affected by the repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law, the current ban on open authentic transgender service, and those currently serving who may experience harassment or discrimination. Russo will be volunteering her time to help Out Serve-SLDN promote their activities and provide connections to help support their work.
