Dunning leads the firm’s Higher Education practice, working with colleges and universities, nonprofits and companies with an interest in higher education. She has extensive experience in crisis communications, issues management, media strategy and long-term client positioning.
Prior to joining Finn Partners, Dunning was vice president and director of communications for Public Agenda, a New York-based nonpartisan, nonprofit public opinion research and citizen education organization founded by Dan Yankelovich and Cyrus Vance. Dunning has experience in television production as well as public service advertising. She worked for the Office of Management and Budget within the Executive Office of the President and for a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Dunning is on the boards of the Economic Club of Washington, DC and Trinity Washington University. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Federal City Council, an advisor to the American Red Cross’ Office of Public Affairs and an advisory board member of the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Dunning is a member of Leadership Greater Washington and a recipient of Washington Business Journal’s “Women Who Mean Business” Award.
