I had built a successful PR agency specializing in travel and tourism when I was approached by Peter Finn to join Finn Partners five years ago. I started as a copy boy at a New Jersey newspaper and got lucky to land a beat reporter’s position. I saw the influence media has in informing the public and shaping opinion. It was exciting and gave me the courage to start my own PR firm, advising clients on business strategies to raise their profiles. They call that thought leadership now, but it was old fashioned publicity with a purpose then.
